Neck tattoos, big rings and Christian Louboutins have been barred from a popular Stockton pub.

The Wobbly Goblin has rolled out a strict new dress code at the Park Terrace nightspot, banning a swathe of designer clothing items from Hugo Boss logos to Ugg boots and shoes.

Bosses at the venue announced the new restrictions on Facebook on Sunday, prompting an outpouring of comments online.

While some branded the new restrictions as "hilarious", others said they had been left gutted as they'd be "no longer allowed" inside.

Here is the full list of items now on the no-go list:

  • No head, neck or face tattoos
  • No big boss logo's
  • No gilet jackets
  • No bubble trainers
  • No big rings / big chains
  • No sliders / flip flops (have to be raised off the floor)
  • No Christian Louboutins
  • No Ugg boots / Ugg shoes
  • Big puffers must be placed in cloakroom

The Wobbly Goblin - located by the side of the A1305 - continues to be one of Stockton's most popular venues, staying open until 4.30am on Friday and Saturday nights and branding itself as the "hottest spot in town".

The reason behind the introduction of the new dress code has not been revealed by The Wobbly Goblin, which posted the dress-code with no caption online.

The news has been shared hundreds of times across social media since, and has garnered a mixed response across the town.

One person joked: "Does this mean crocs are sound then? Or are they too close to the floor?"

Another said: "Never heard anything like it."
