There's a new place to pick up sausage rolls and steak bakes in Darlington as Greggs opens the doors to its latest branch.

The bakery chain has launched its eighth store in Darlington, within the Morrisons Petrol Station at Morton Park, following a major refurbishment of the site.

Latest pictures from the station, which re-opened on October 17, show how a balloon arch has been positioned in front of the doors to celebrate the opening.

The Greggs store will be open from 6am until 6pm everyday apart from Sundays, when it will be open from 7am until 4pm. The station itself will now be open 24/7.

There are also several offers on alongside the opening of the Greggs shop, including a free breakfast roll between October 24 and 30, a free sweet treat between October 31 and November 6, and a free sausage or vegan sausage roll between November 7 and 13.

The deals are available with any purchase, subject to conditions.

As previously reported, the sausage roll brand place "coming soon" signs around the station forecourt as it teased the opening of the store last month.

This marks the eighth Greggs to open in the Darlington area, with locations already including Skinnergate, High Row, the Cornmill Shopping Centre, North Gate, and more.

It comes just months after Motor Fuel Group, or MFG, acquired 337 Morrisons petrol forecourts, including fuel, convenience retail kiosk, and ancillary services, in April.

Darlington is also following the new MFG trend as the business, which is the largest independent forecourt operator in the country, has launched a string of new Greggs locations within its stations in recent months.
