A wanted man in a stolen car was caught by police - as he went through a KFC drive-thru.
A team from Durham Roads and Armed Policing unit received intelligence that a VW Polo, believed to been have been stolen from an address in Hexham earlier on Thursday morning (October 17), was travelling south into their force area.
Officers flooded the Spennymoor area and spotted the car as it headed for the KFC drive-thru at Thinford.
Officers blocked the car in from either side (known as the 'pincer' movement), stopping him from making an escape.
The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and several other driving offences – just two hours after it was reported stolen.
Durham Police have confirmed that he has been handed back to Northumbria Police for their investigation to continue.
