Seven motorists have been named and fined in court after being caught speeding in County Durham and Darlington.

The cases were heard at Peterlee Magistrates' Court during the last week.

Daniel Hewitt , 38 of Bek Road, Durham, exceeded 70 mph limit March 24 on the A1(M) at Bowburn.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £265. License endorsed 3 points.

Christophers Horwell, 57, of Clifton Drive, Blackpool, exceeded 70 mph on March 24 at A66 Galley Bank, near Barnard Castle.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay fine and costs of £319. Driving record endorsed with 3 points.

Aileen Innes, 46, West Farm Drive, Chopwell, exceed 30 mph on March 27  at B6309 Watling Street Leadgate.

She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay fine and costs of £98, Driving record endorsed with 3 points.

David Martin, 49, of  Giltbrook, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, exceed 70 mph on a March 10, at A66 Galley Bank, Barnard Castle, 

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of£542. Driving record endorsed with 4 points.

Gary Moan, 59, of Cottonwood, Sunderland, exceeded 70 mph on March 24 at A66 Bowes Moor, Barnard Castle. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £349. Driving record endorsed with 4 points.

Tyler Joe Robson Pennington, 21 of Beverley Gardens, Chilton, exceeded 30 mph limit on March 25 at Eldon Bank, Bishop Auckland.

He pleaded guilty and was order to pay a fine and costs of £398. Driving record endorsed with 3 points.
