Sam Fender has announced he will be performing at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle THIS YEAR as part of a tour across Europe for his new album.

The news comes after the singer revealed two mysterious clocks on his website earlier this week, counting down to two different dates - one of which was at 10am this morning (October 18).

Then, several vans started appearing outside of arenas across the country, including outside the First Direct Arena in Leeds, St James Park in Newcastle, and Co-op Live in Manchester.

Those heading to Sam’s website were told to “get ready” for an announcement by signing up for updates via email and text.

The news sent fans spiralling, speculating that Sam could be about to release his new single People Watching, which he recently performed at his headline gig at Boardmasters festival in Cornwall in August.

It’s been months since Sam released a single, with his last being a feature on Noah Khan’s Homesick, which was released in January this year.

Sam’s last solo single was Wild Grey Ocean in 2022, from his hit album Seventeen Going Under.

On X, Sam said: "UK and EU People Watching Tour! Back on the road this December!  Tickets on general sale next Friday, October 25, 10am local pre-order Album Three (!!) for access to our presale on oct 22nd. This doesn’t include our Newcastle show where we’re running a ballot."
