A man has been taken to hospital after he was found injured following a crash this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Norton Road in Stockton just before 2pm this afternoon (October 16) following reports of a crash which left a man injured.

The road was closed off by police following the incident who have confirmed only one vehicle was involved.

The North East Ambulance Service has now confirmed that one person has been taken to hospital.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 1.59pm this afternoon to reports of a person injured on Norton Road in Stockton.

"We dispatched two ambulance crews to the scene and transported one patient to the University Hospital of North Tees for further treatment."
