A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing at a Thornaby petrol station. 

Scott Northmore, 28, is set to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 14, charged in connection with an incident at Hollybush service station on Saturday. 

Emergency services were called to the forecourt, just off Thornaby Road, around 5.30am after a man in his thirties suffered stab wounds

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition - with Cleveland Police confirming his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Northmore, of Wensleydale Gardens, has since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a Class C drug and possession of a Class B drug, and was remanded in custody. 

As previously reported, officers taped off the petrol station on Saturday following the incident, with white-suited crime scene investigators spotted carrying out enquiries at the scene.

Forensic officers were seen combing the forecourt and its vicinity, with three private vehicles said to be within the cordoned-off area.

The force said: "A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident at Hollybush service station in Thornaby on Saturday 12 October 2024.

"A man in his thirties suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"The 28-year-old was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a Class C drug and possession of a Class B drug. He was remanded to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this morning (14 October)."
