An urgent search is underway for a missing teenager last seen about 20 miles from home.

Nathaniel Waite is missing from Durham, but was last seen in the Hemlington area of Middlesbrough, more than 20 miles away on Saturday evening.

The 15-year-old was last seen in Hemlington at about 5.30pm and is said to have links to the area.

He was wearing blue trainers, a blue and grey hoodie and grey jogging bottoms.

Police said they are urgently appealing for information to help find him, and are growing increasingly worried about him.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Officers are concerned for his welfare and are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact 101, quoting reference number 196548.”
