A man has pleaded guilty to attempting to murder a woman when he stabbed her several times.
David Fletcher also admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a knife following an incident earlier this year in County Durham.
The 62-year-old man admitted stabbing the woman, who is in her 30s, in the Gilesgate area of Durham.

Emergency services were called to Churchill Square just before 8pm on Thursday, May 2.
Fletcher, of Dean Road, South Shields, entered his pleas when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court for a short hearing.
He was remanded in custody until November 8 when he will be sentenced at the same court.
