A popular Italian restaurant in Newcastle has re-opened with a fresh lick of paint, an "exciting" new menu, and a sprinkling of Geordie decor.
Zizzi Newcastle, on Grey Street, is welcoming back diners to its new-look restaurant following a major refurbishment.
The revamp - part of the chain's rollout of its new look - has seen the addition of a mural by artist Alexandra Elstone, with customers who enter now being greeted with ‘shy bairns get nowt’ in bright neon letters.
The restaurant also has a free pizza giveaway for the opening date later this month for the first 1,000 customers through the doors. The deal - which will run until October 14 - is on a first come first served basis.
Elsewhere, the new menu now features a fresh pasta superiore range - long ruffled ribbons of fresh-egg pasta prepared with the finest ingredients - as well as an "indulgent" range of pizzas and a string of vegan-friendly options.

Headline dishes at the venue - which seats 180 guests indoors and 22 outdoors - include the crispy prosciutto carbonara, wagyu meatball arrabbiata, and a piccante king prawn.
General manager Elliot Kelly said: "We’re thrilled to reopen our doors and welcome customers, old and new. We can’t wait to share our unique twist on Italian dishes, all served in our beautiful new restaurant.”
Zizzi Newcastle is open from 11.30am until 10pm, Monday through Sunday.
