Cars have been left stranded and roads across the region are impassible after severe flooding.
Motorists battled flooded roads and long delays as they attempted to commute to work on Wednesday (October 9).
It came after heavy rain on Tuesday battered the region with drains in some areas unable to cope with the deluge of water.

The A1(M) has been completely closed in both directions near Darlington with delays of more than one hour.
One motorist said: "It's a nightmare. We've been stuck and have no idea what's going on. It's going to take me forever to get to work."
Parts of the A167 and A68 have been left flooded with water spanning the carriageway.
A Mini driver became stuck in water on the A68 with the flooding passing door level on the car.
In Darlington Cocker Beck in The Denes was close to bursting its banks while rivers across the region have been running higher than normal.

Police have been out closing roads and the council is assisting with attempting to clear away the flood water.
Durham Police and County Council have both been contacted for comment.
