The World of James Herriot celebrates its 25th anniversary

The event, which was held at The Garden Rooms, Tennants of Leyburn, celebrated the attraction, which opened in 1999, by inviting a whole host of special guests, including James Herriot’s children, Jim Wight and Rosie Page, and members of the Yorkshire Vet team from Channel 5, and the cast of All Creatures Great and Small.

Also joining the celebrations was radio presenter and reporter, Elly Fiorentini, who served as the evening's compère.

Special guests and live entertainment included Sam West and Nicholas Ralph, notable members of the "All Creatures Great & Small" cast.

Alexandra Harwood, who composed the musical score for the new series, was also present.

The entertainment line-up boasts Seán Ruane, the tenor who is known for his breathtaking vocal artistry and an endearing, easy-going style that has graced grand opera, TV and sporting arenas.

In a true act of giving back, all proceeds from the 25th-anniversary celebration were donated to Herriot Hospice Homecare.

The charity organisation provides vital care for people living with terminal illnesses and those dealing with bereavement.

The event signifies a noble cause as much as it denotes a grand celebration.

It is a testament to how the World of James Herriot visitor attraction continues to bring people together in memory of the legendary James Herriot, while continuously helping those in need.
