Hopetown in Darlington is transforming into Spooktown this Halloween season.

Visitors can look forward to a haunted passenger train which has appeared in the Carriage Works with spectres and ghouls on board.

To get there you will have to take part in a frightfully fun trail around Spooktown with surprises around every corner.

On Halloween (October 31), come dressed in your best costumes and look out for the witches and ghosts exploring the grounds.

A visit to Spooktown in Darlington is included with free site admission, you can pre-book in advance or pick up a free ticket from the welcome desk.

Mike Crawshaw, Head of Culture & Heritage at Darlington Borough Council said: "Spooktown is an engaging event for the whole family that’s bound to get them in the Halloween spirit.

"Spooktown is Hopetown Darlington’s first Halloween event and will be a fantastically memorable event for families before, during and after the half-term holiday."
