A road in County Durham has been closed after a telegraph pole fell over this afternoon (Friday, October 4).
Dene Bridge Row, in Ferryhill, has been closed by emergency services this afternoon, whilst repairs on a fallen telegraph pole are carried out.
It is unknown how long the road will be closed, though the police have estimated that it will be "several hours", and have advised that motorists find alternate routes tonight.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Dene Bridge Row in Ferryhill is currently closed due to a fallen telegraph pole.
"The road is expected to be closed for several hours while repairs are being carried out.
"Drivers are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route."
