A County Durham man has been fined in court for allowing the unnecessary suffering of a horse earlier this year.
Samantha Rush, 55, of Meadow View, Bishop Auckland, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on October 2, 2024.
He pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a horse named Marvel by failing to address the animal's poor condition and weight loss between February 6, 2024, and February 29, 2024.

Rush was fined £576, ordered to pay a £230 victim surcharge and £300 in costs, and was disqualified from keeping horses for three years.
Payment was set to commence on October 15, 2024.
The case was initially brought by RSPCA, who referred the case on to the police and the courts.
