Seven drivers from County Durham and the North East have appeared in court for various offences on the roads of the region.

Liam Paul Ainslie (Hadrian Court, Wingate)
Liam Paul Ainslie, 34, was found guilty under the Single Justice Procedure on October 1, 2024, for failing to provide driver identification for an offence on May 29, 2024. He was fined £660, with a victim surcharge of £264, costs of £90, and had his driving record endorsed with six points. Payment is due by October 29, 2024.
Colin Bentham (Rodridge Park, Wingate)
Colin Bentham, 56, was convicted in his absence on October 1, 2024, for speeding on the A1(M) on March 16, 2024. He was fined £488, ordered to pay £195 as a victim surcharge, and £90 in costs. His driving record was endorsed with five points. Payment is due by October 29, 2024.
William Betney (Green View Lodge, Bishop Auckland)
William Betney, 32, pleaded guilty under the Single Justice Procedure on October 1, 2024, to speeding on March 21, 2024, in West Auckland.
