A North East airport is set to get a new flight route to Marrakech as Ryanair announced its Winter offerings for 2024.
The airline, known for its low fares, has revealed its Winter 2024 schedule for Newcastle, which includes 13 routes.
A new route to Marrakech is part of the plans, offering North East holiday-goers more choice for flights to Morocco and Africa.
The airline's head of communications, Jade Kirwan, said: "We are pleased to announce our Winter 2024 schedule for Newcastle with 13 exciting routes, including our new Marrakech route, giving our customers in the North East even more choice at the lowest airfares in Europe."
Ryanair operates more than 640 routes to and from the UK, transporting more than 57 million passengers annually.
It maintains a fleet of 117 UK-based aircraft and says it contributes to year-round tourism and supports over 45,000 British jobs.

The news from Ryanair follows news from other flight operators of new flight routes from Newcastle airport including Jet2 who announced five new routes from North East runways coming into force in 2026.
These routes also include flights to Marrakech. Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: "Customers are telling us they want to book ahead and secure that all-important holiday, so they can have the best choice of hotels, rooms and dates.
"We have responded to the strong demand from holidaymakers wanting to lock in their getaways, by putting our biggest and best Summer programme on sale from Newcastle International Airport for 2026, earlier than ever before.
