Drivers face delays of up to an hour on the A19 near Cramlington due to a vehicle fire.
Emergency services are at the scene and recovery vehicles are on their way.
The A19 southbound is currently blocked while the fire is put out.

A National Highways spokesperson said: "The A19 is currently blocked southbound between the A1056 (#Killingworth) and the A189 (Cramlington) due to a vehicle fire.
"Emergency services are working at the scene with recovery arranged and en route.
"There are delays of up to 60 minutes on the approach."
