A Bishop Auckland restaurant has been awarded a prestigious award by TripAdvisor making it one of the top 10% rated restaurants globally.

El Castillo in Bishop Auckland Market Place is delighted to have won a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award for 2024. 

The restaurant, which offers a wide range of tapas and Spanish cuisine first opened its doors in 2022, boasts a four-star rating on Tripadvisor and is the second top-rated in Bishop Auckland.

This is the second accolade for the restaurant which was awarded the same award last year which is based on reviews and more.

A post on social media by The Auckland Project reads: "We're thrilled to announce that our tapas restaurant, El Castillo, has won a 2024 Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award placing us among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide!

Also on the list of top restaurants which includes El Castillo is three Michelin-star rated eatery Restaurant Pic in Valence, France as well as Northcote Restaurant in Langho.
