Tomahawk is set to open a new restaurant in the Metrocentre - with a special twist that sees steaks cooked on a hot stone in front of diners.
The popular steakhouse chain will open its latest branch in the Upper Yellow Mall of the Gateshead complex, beside the ODEON cinema.
The venue will have a special twist that sets it apart called 'Steak on a Stone', where diners will be able to select the cut of steak they like and have it severed to the table on a very hot rock.
Steak lovers will then take over and cook the strips exactly how they like it - or get a chef to cook it for them exactly to their request.
Famed for its "signature" steak and offering a dining experience "unlike any other", the chain will be launching the new restaurant later this month, or in early November.
This marks another North East restaurant for the growing chain, which now has sites in Yarm, Potto, Middlesbrough, Newcastle Quayside and Morpeth.
The new Metrocentre site will see prices starting from £14.95 for steak and chips and will boast an "amazing" parmo menu and smash burger selection.
Tomahawk has also secured the Forged Irish Stout, from Connor McGregor, which will be a first for the Metrocentre.

An exact opening date for the restaurant is not yet known, with opening and closing times also yet to be revealed.
The news comes as Tomahawk prepares to open a new fish and chip shop on Yarm High Street, having teased bringing a chippy to the town earlier this year.
It will be launching in the former Pollo takeaway, which Tomahawk opened several years ago before it was taken over by Greedy Ted's, which has since moved to Guisborough.
