Police stumbled across a huge cannabis grow after catching a whiff of the plants while on another job.
Officers were responding to a job on Wicklow Street in the Newport area of Middlesbrough on Saturday (September 28) when they caught the strong smell of cannabis.
They followed their noses and found a room of young plants, before discovering a larger farm next door.
Harvested cannabis which had been prepared for sale was also found and the haul seized.
Cleveland Police said the plants could have been worth up to £100,0000.
A spokesperson for the Teesside force said: “The electricity supply in both properties had to be made safe as it had been tampered with.

“Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting reference number 186516.”
