Yarm could be set to welcome a new bar as plans are lodged for a premises licence at a former children’s clothes shop.
An application has been submitted to Stockton Council for ‘Rhythms’ at 3 Fairfax Court, formerly home to Elfins Childrenswear Yarm.
Bosses are hoping to license the 592 sq ft unit - located between Kryogen Wellness Therapy Centre and Hairtek - for the sale of alcohol, recorded music, and live music.
The venue wishes to sell alcohol at the site from Monday to Wednesday between 12pm and 12am, until the later time of 2am from Thursday to Saturday, and until 11pm on Sunday.
The application notes there would be some seasonal variations for dates including New Year’s Eve, Boxing Day, and Bank Holiday Sundays, which would see the venue open until 2am also.
Rhythms also hopes to play recorded music between the same times and host live music - although the latter would end at 11pm, 12am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 2am on the list of bank holidays.
Details for the new venue remain tightly under wraps - with the inside of the venue being vacant beside furniture and some art installations in the windows of the store.
If approved, it would mark the latest in a long line to join Yarm's nightlife scene, with the town currently home to a wide range of bars and pubs including Tomahawk Steakhouse, the Black Bull, Osbournes, Macy Brown's, Luna Blu and The Keys.

The High Street is set to welcome even more venues in the near future too - with former designer store The House set to be transformed into a Pan Asian restaurant and boutique hotel and the former Barclays bank set to become an Italian restaurant.
A letter detailing the premises licence application is also taped to the main door with details for anyone who wishes to make a comment.
The consultation closure date for the application is October 17.
