Greggs is set to open a new store inside a busy Darlington petrol station.
The bakery chain will be launching its latest branch within the Morrisons Petrol Station at Morton Park as part of a major refurbishment of the site.
While the service station remains open for pay at pump or pay at night pay, the store itself is closed while major renovations get underway inside - with a re-opening date already set for Thursday, October 17.
Latest pictures from the site show how the Morrisons Daily remains surrounded by a metal fence as the construction continues.
The sausage roll firm has also placed “coming soon” signs around the forecourt, including a banner asking people to join their workforce.
This will mark the eighth Greggs to open in the Darlington area, with the chain already having locations on Skinnergate, High Row, the Cornmill Shopping Centre, North Gate, and more.
The news comes just months after Motor Fuel Group, or MFG, acquired 337 Morrisons petrol forecourts, including fuel, convenience retail kiosk, and ancillary services, in April.
The deal, worth £2.5m, also included more than 400 associated sites across the UK for Ultra-Rapid electric vehicle (“EV”) charging development - and included Morrisons’ minority stake of approximately 20% equity interest in MFG.
MFG - which is the largest independent forecourt operator in the country - has launched a string of new Greggs locations within its sites in recent months.

A poster on the service station currently states: “Our apologies… During this refurbishment, we are pay at night pay or pay at pump only.
“The store will open to the public on Thursday the 17th of October.”
