A body has been found in a search for a missing 50-year-old woman who was last seen over the weekend, police have confirmed.
Cleveland Police say the family of Angela Simpson of Middlesbrough have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
Angela was last seen on September 22, and CCTV was recently released of her walking from Kildwick Grove towards the junction of Penrith Road in Middlesbrough around 6.30pm on Sunday (September 22) in a bid to find her.
Police say her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
A full statement from Cleveland Police reads: "Cleveland Police officers searching for a missing 50-year-old woman from Middlesbrough have sadly located a body.
"While formal identification is yet to take place the family of Angela Simpson, who was reported missing on Sunday 22 September, has been informed. They are being supported by specialist officers."The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
"Officers would like to thank members of the public for sharing the appeal and reporting information."
