UPDATED: The road has now reopened after the completion of emergency barrier repairs.
A CAR has left the road after a crash on a major road in North Yorkshire.
The A1(M) has one lane closed due to a crash Northbound from junction 50 the A61 for Ripon to junction 51 the A684 for Leeming Bar and Bedale.
Emergency services are on the scene.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Ripon, Thirsk and Bedale responded to a police report of a car which had left the carriageway.
“On arrival, police were in attendance with no persons trapped. Scene safety actions carried out only.”
