A man has been arrested after a Middlesbrough "stabbing" saw a woman airlifted to hospital.
Police and paramedics were called to Barnaby Crescent, in Eston, around 4.35pm on Tuesday (September 24) after a 31-year-old woman sustained a stab wound.
The woman was taken to the James Cook University Hospital by air ambulance, with Cleveland Police describing her condition as stable and her injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A 54-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Officers believe this was an isolated incident and are "not currently aware of any risk to the wider community".

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or any relevant doorbell, dashcam or private CCTV footage from Barnaby Close and neighbouring streets to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 184260.
