Darlington's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network over the next two weeks.

Thankfully, all of them are only expected to cause slight delays of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows the closures expected this week:

• A66, from 8pm April 22 to 6am October 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Lingfield Point, lane closures for horticulture works.

• A66, from 10am September 23 to 2.30pm October 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blands Corner Little Burdon, narrow lanes and verge works for LA works.

These are two closures which will start in the coming weeks:

• A1(M), from 8am to 4.30pm on September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 58 to junction 59, mobile lane closure for maintenance works.

• A1(M), from 8pm October 7 to 6am October 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 58 -, junction 59, lane closures for technology works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
