A County Durham garden centre is opening a new Christmas-themed store in October as the run-up to the festive period begins.

East Durham Garden Centre in Easington is set to launch its new Christmas store on October 5.

The store will feature a wide range of decorations, from classic reds, greens, and golds to modern winter themes of silver and white. Visitors can also expect to see nostalgic gingerbread and romantic pastel pinks.

A spokesperson for East Durham Garden Centre said: "The best time of the year is nearly here, and East Durham Garden Centre is excited to announce its brand new Christmas store will be opening on October 5.

"After what can be described as a temperamental summer, customers can now immerse themselves in the magic of Christmas by exploring the store, which is overflowing with a dazzling array of decorations to suit every taste.

"Exclusive to British Garden Centres, the brand new Fern Christmas range will be launched at East Durham Garden Centre and has everything you need to transform your home and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones come December."
