Police have confirmed a woman in her 80s died after paramedics attended a medical incident in Darlington over the weekend.
An ambulance arrived at an address in Eastbourne Road shortly before midnight on Friday, followed by a paramedic vehicle and a second ambulance.
The police attended the scene as well, with emergency services remaining at the address for a couple of hours.
A Durham Police spokesperson said today (Monday): "Police were called by the ambulance service shortly after 1.10am on Saturday (September 21) following concerns for the welfare of a woman at a house on Eastbourne Road, in Darlington.
"Sadly, the woman, who was in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a medical incident at a private address in the Eastbourne area of Darlington just after 10.30pm on Friday 20 September.
"We dispatched two double crewed ambulances and a specialist paramedic.”
