Darlington-based firm Frank’s The Flooring Store is set to open its first store in Northallerton.
The independent retailer, which first opened in Darlington in 1997, last week launched its new branch inside the 60,000 square foot department store Barkers Home.
Taking up the old Carpetright space, the firm promises to “redefine the home shopping experience” in its new North Yorkshire location, which will feature everything from plush carpets to timeless luxury vinyl tiles.
Frank’s The Flooring Store has been a staple across the North East for four decades and is arguably best known for its famed “I love carpets, me!” slogan.
Its new location at Barkers Home - which also sells luxurious furniture and home accessories from its site on the edge of Northallerton - will have a dedicated team to assist customers with selecting their materials and planning its installation.
The opening comes just months after Frank’s opened a new location in Guisborough, at 2 Cleveland Gate Retail Park.
Managing director Billy Maguire Jnr said: “We’re thrilled to bring our extensive range of flooring solutions to Barkers Home
“Both of us are proud family businesses, who both have a long-standing reputation for quality and service, and we believe this partnership will provide the people of Northallerton with the very best in home interiors.”

He continued: “We’re not just selling floors; we’re helping people create the homes they’ve always dreamed of.
