Police are looking to speak to a man after £450 worth of solar panels were stolen from a van.

It was reported that just after 4am on August 12, an offender broke into a parked silver Renault Trafic van on Wilberforce Street in Jarrow.

Solar panels up to the value of £450 were then stolen from the vehicle.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "A number of enquiries have been carried out since the report was first made.

"As part of those enquiries, we have today released an image of a man we would like to speak to.

"He was in the area at the time and we believe the man may be able to assist with our enquiries."
