Darlington Borough Council have announced events coming to the town in the remainder of the autumn and winter.
Markets, festivals, and Christmas lights are among events in the line-up of events set to hit Darlington for the rest of 2024.
The summer may be over but various fun activities and events have been planned to look forward to as we head into the cooler months.
Cllr Libby McCollom, cabinet member for local services, said: "We had a great summer events programme that brought tens of thousands of people together in the town centre to enjoy all Darlington has to offer.
"Our events team, partners and sponsors did an amazing job, and there's still more to come in the months ahead – so come along and join in the fun."
The full list of events coming to the town is below:
Continental Market
Food lovers will revel in the Continental Market returning to the town centre for four days, from 9 to 12 October.
The event promises to fill the Market Square with a range of delectable foods and produce from various corners of the globe.
Diwali
To mark the Indian festival of Diwali, a lantern parade will grace the streets on Saturday 26 October.
The day will be packed with a line-up of different activities and crafts.
Halloween
On Halloween, the council encourages everyone to dress up and join in for some ghastly fun.
On Thursday 31 October, eerie characters will haunt the town centre, together with meet and greet appearances and children's activities lined up in the Queen Street Shopping Centre.
Christmas Lights Switch On
Sunday 17 November will see the annual Christmas Lights Switch On take place in the Market Square.
Santa himself will be present to do the honours, and this will be followed by a two-minute fireworks display.
Ice sculptures
On 7 December, the ever-popular Ice Sculpture Trail will return with sculptures popping up around the town centre.
The council will make a map available at each sculpture for people to find their way around.
Panto
True to the season, Sleeping Beauty will be staged at the Darlington Hippodrome from 6 to 31 December.
Notable stars in the cast include singer Lee Mead and comedian Su Pollard of Hi-de-Hi fame.
