Two people have been taken to hospital after a three-car crash shut a County Durham road.
Police were called to Commercial Street in Cornsay Colliery, County Durham at about 7.20am on Wednesday (September 18) to reports of a crash.
Fire crews and paramedics also rushed to the scene and two people were taken to University Hospital North Durham, the ambulance service (NEAS) confirmed.
A NEAS spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic incident this morning on Commercial Street at 07:21am.
“We dispatched two ambulance crews to the incident and two patients were taken to the University Hospital of North Durham”
