A man was rushed to hospital following a medical emergency at County Durham supermarket.
The alarm was raised following the incident at the Co-op in Bowburn, near Durham, on Tuesday evening.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “Police were called shortly before 7.30pm yesterday (September 17) by the ambulance service who were requesting assistance with a medical emergency at the Co-op in Durham Road, Bowburn.
“Paramedics treated the man at the scene and transported him to hospital for further treatment.”
The patient was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a medical incident at a property on Durham Road, Bowburn just after 7.20pm last night (Tuesday 17 September).
“We dispatched a community first responder, a specialist paramedic, a rapid response paramedic and a double crewed ambulance.
“One patient was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.”
The Co-op has been contacted for comment.
