A man has been charged following an armed robbery in Consett yesterday morning.
Police were called to Premier on Park Road, Consett at 8.30am (September 16) after reports of a man threatening a member of staff with a knife.
Nothing was taken from the store, however the victim was understandably shaken.

A 21-year-old man was arrested nearby in connection with the offence.
He has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and attempted robbery.
Michael Murray appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court this morning, where he did not enter any pleas.
The man was remanded into custody and will next appear at Durham Crown Court on October 15.
