A teenager has been arrested after a man was 'attacked' in a Darlington churchyard.
Emergency services were called to the grounds of St Cuthbert's Church on Monday (September 16) after reports that a man had been assaulted.
A cordon was erected around a section of the park, with several paths being taped off as police and paramedics dealt with the incident.
At least five police cars and two ambulances were spotted near the church, and next to Tubwell Row and Stonebridge, including a critical care team from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
Durham Constabulary initially launched a manhunt for the suspect, saying the alleged victim had refused medical treatment at the scene.
The force has now confirmed a 19-year-old teenager was arrested on Tuesday afternoon (September 17) where he was quizzed by officers before being released on bail.
The investigation continues.
