Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars at teatime.
Emergency services were called to Newport in Middlesbrough just before 6pm.
Pictures from the scene show damage to a black Nissan Juke and a white Ford Focus.
Police and fire and rescue crews were at the scene and the roof has been cut off the Nissan.

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Newport Road, Middlesbrough at 5.40pm this evening.
“We dispatched two double crewed ambulances and a clinical team leader.
“Two patients were taken to James Cook Hospital.”
