One person has been taken to hospital after a four-vehicle crash near Darlington.
Emergency services were called to B6444 at Heighington, close to the junction with the A6072, following a collision around 11.14am on Tuesday (September 17).
The road was closed off by police, with motorists urged to find alternate routes and AA Traffic News showing some slow traffic in the area.
Durham Constabulary confirmed four vehicles were involved in the crash, with the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) sending one ambulance crew to the scene.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was also in attendance.
One person has since been taken to the Darlington Memorial Hospital by road, where their current condition remains unknown.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision in Station Road, Heighington, at 11.14am this morning (September 17).

"We dispatched one ambulance crew and were also supported by Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient has been taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by road."
The force previously said: "We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the B6444 at Heighington, close to the junction with the A6072.
"Drivers are asked to find an alternative route while the vehicles are recovered. Thank you for your patience."
