Drivers in and around Darlington will have three road closures to watch out for over the next fortnight.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place in Darlington is expected to carry on this week:

• A66, from 8pm April 22 to 6am October 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Lingfield Point, lane closures for horticulture works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A66, from 10am September 23 to 2.30pm October 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blands Corner Little Burdon, narrow lanes and verge works for LA works.

• A66, from 8pm September 23 to 6am September 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Croft Railway Bridge to Maidendale Railway Bridge, traffic signals and lane closure for drainage survey works for area scheme.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
