A police cordon is in place at a church in Darlington, where police officers and paramedics have been seen working at the scene.
Emergency services arrived at St Cuthbert's Church at about 3pm on Monday (September 16) - with a police cordon seen stretching over several paths in the churchyard and next to Tubwell Row and Stonebridge.
The emergency service presence has been concentrated on a section of the St Cuthbert's Church graveyard, with paramedics seen crowding around one section of the churchyard.
Five police cars and two ambulances in total have been seen at the incident.
The nature of the incident hasn't been confirmed by the North East Ambulance Service or Durham Police - but images from the scene show a large gathering of people in one section of the churchyard with police officers seen blocking off areas with a cordon.
The North East Ambulance Service and Durham Police have been contacted for further details
