An award-winning film director is set to return to a County Durham arts venue to shoot his new horror short.

In June 2023, Dean Midas filmed the conclusion of The Devil's Stone at The Witham, in Barnard Castle. That film went on to break his opening week records.

The follow-up, The Legend of Sayer Hicks, will see the return of the chilling horror villain to the renowned arts centre.

Mr Midas thanked Peter Dixon of The Witham and the team  at the venue for their help

"I can't wait to return - and neither can Sayer Hicks," said Mr Midas.

His latest film, Eve Valentine, topped the horror section of Shortly, a platform promoting short films, just over a week after its release.

Twenty weeks later, it continues to enjoy a high ranking.
