A man has been fined for throwing a cigarette butt into a drain in County Durham car park.
Kartovich Rusian, 37, of Pickhurst Lane, London, was found guilty of littering at the Durham Services car park on May 26, 2024.
The car park, located on Tursdale Road, Durham, is a place where section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1990 applies.
Rusian's actions contradicted section 87(1) and (5) of the same act and resulted in his conviction on September 12, 2024, under the Single Justice Procedure.

His conviction led to Rusian a fine and costs of £284.
A collection order was made, setting the payment deadline on October 10, 2024.
