A 10-bedroom County Durham house is up for sale with an offer of more than £1m enough to secure the property.
The house, known as Etherley Lodge, was built around 1820 and is located in the semi-rural village of Low Etherley, three miles west of Bishop Auckland.
The property, which is listed on Zoopla by estate agents Hunters, sits on a 1.7 acre plot and includes a self-contained annexe and guest wing.
The house was originally built for Henry Stobart, a local colliery owner who also constructed a nearby hospital for injured soldiers.
The original construction included cottages for mine workers, a mining office, an icehouse, and extensive water gardens.
The house was expanded in 1912 and again in 1986 when it was used as a nursing home.

The current owners purchased the property in 2018 after it had been left unoccupied and derelict for five years.
They have since completed a full restoration, returning it to its original purpose as a family home.
The main house includes a living room, formal lounge, two sunrooms, a kitchen/breakfast room, two dining rooms, a utility room, a cinema room, and a games room.
The ground floor also features a bedroom and dressing room.
The first floor houses the master bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom, a bedroom with an ensuite shower room, two further bedrooms, a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room, a family bathroom, and a playroom.
The second floor contains a home gym and office.
The guest wing on the first floor has two bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, an additional bedroom, and a bathroom.
The self-contained annex on the ground floor includes a living room, sun room, reading room, kitchen/dining room, utility, bathroom, and two bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite bathroom.
The property also benefits from gas central heating with new boilers, water tanks, radiators, and plumbing throughout.
The estate agents describe the property as having "original features" and a "traditional yet modern decor".
