A North East hotel has been shortlisted for the Boutique Hotel of the Year award after recently completing a multi-million-pound renovation.
Luxury hotel, Matfen Hall, in Northumberland has been recognised by Boutique Hotelier as one of the finest boutique hotels in Britain, making it to the shortlist of their 2024 awards.
The achievement follows the hotel's recent distinction of an AA five-star rating, marking it as the premier five-star hotel in Northumberland.
Situated amid 300 acres of gorgeous parkland, Matfen Hall boasts six elegant dining and drinking areas and 63 rooms, from Luxury Suites to Classic Rooms.
The estate, rich in heritage, houses stunning rooms, various dining choices, a beautiful spa and fitness suite, and a challenging championship golf course.

A recent multi-million-pound revamp has significantly upgraded the Great Hall, dining and bar areas, and bedrooms.
The nomination coincides with the grand reopening of the refurbished golf clubhouse and restaurant, The Keepers, offering fantastic views of the hotel's impressive 27-hole Championship golf course.
The owner, Walwick Estate Group, has shown its dedication to high-quality experiences throughout Matfen Hall.

There are eight hotels listed for the award around the UK and Ireland and the public can get involved by voting for Matfen Hall in the 'Boutique Hotel of the Year' category.
