The body of a man has been found in Sunderland.
Emergency services were called to the River Wear, close to the Wearmouth Bridge, on Wednesday morning after reports of a body in the water.
Northumbria Police sadly located the body of a man - and believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The man's next of kin have been informed and a file will now be prepared for the Coroner.
A full statement from Northumbria Police said: “Shortly after 11am yesterday (Wednesday), we received a report of a body in the River Wear, close to Wearmouth Bridge in Sunderland.

“Emergency services attended and sadly the body of a man was discovered a short time later.
"The man's next of kin have been informed.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
