Tiny trains, model railways and ornate miniature landscapes are set to take over this weekend - as Darlington Model Railway Club hosts its first exhibition show at their new venue.

The club will welcome railway enthusiasts and model novices to their inaugural event at the Oakleaf Sports Complex in School Aycliffe, DL5 6QZ on September 14 and 15.

This year, the exhibition is set to showcase a range of impressive model railway layouts, in various shapes, sizes, and gauges, catering to all enthusiasts.

The club is "eager to expand its presence within the community" and is excited ahead of a "great show for attendees."

Looking ahead, the club is also anticipating the 200th anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway next year.

Entrance to the event is £8 for adults, and free for under 16s, offering children an up-close look at realistic and impressive layouts.

Darlington Model Railway Club has said that the exhibition will feature 'Sodor', the beloved home of Thomas and Friends, allowing both young and old fans to operate their favourite locomotives.
