Three Darlington teenagers were arrested after they allegedly stole a scooter from a garden last weekend.
On Sunday (September 8) officers on North Road were alerted to suspicious activity in the Firthmoor area.
They investigated and discovered three young boys with a scooter which had reportedly been stolen from a nearby garden.
Three males aged between 12 and 14 were arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
A Darlington Police spokesperson said: "On Sunday evening, officers from East and North Road Neighbourhood Teams conducted plain-clothed patrols as part of Operation Trident, which aims to tackle vehicle crime and residential burglaries in hot-spot areas.

"At around 2:30 am, they received a report of suspicious activity in the Firthmoor area.
"Following an immediate response, they subsequently located three youths with the below scooter, which had just been stolen from someone's garden nearby.
"Investigations are ongoing."
