A 14-year-old boy who police believe is at the centre anti-social behaviour in Newton Aycliffe town centre was arrested last night on suspicion of committing arson.

It was in relation to a large retail bin being set on fire to the rear of Poundstretchers in the town on August 26.

He has been charged with the offence to appear in court and and bailed with a condition to keep out of the town centre.

The boy cannot be identified for legal reasons due to his age.
