Plans to build an additional bungalow in a County Durham village have been lodged with the council.
The proposal, submitted by Mr. T Dunn, seeks the demolition of existing garages and the construction of a new three-bedroom bungalow on land to the north of Stone Row, Butterknowle, Bishop Auckland.
The brownfield site, previously developed, currently houses six garage spaces which are to be replaced with one residential unit, thus reducing parking spaces to two.
The developmental plan emphasises the careful demolition aimed at protecting nearby trees.
Ground protection measures, hand demolition or machinery positioned outside tree root protection areas are to be implemented.

New services such as drainage systems will be installed using methods like trenchless installation to protect tree roots.
An impact assessment assures that the development would have minimal impact on existing trees, allowing them to remain in good condition if the recommended protective measures are followed.
The new bungalow, as stated in the application, is to have brick walls and sage green uPVC windows and doors.
The proposal also indicates there is no significant flood risk or contamination issues on the site.
