A takeaway has been heavily fined in court after facing charges relating to "health and safety failings".
Royal Chef, which goes by the company name N R Chef Limited, based on Manor Road, St Helen Auckland, Bishop Auckland, was found guilty on a string of charges relating to the EU Hygiene Regulations and the Health and Safety at Work Act, at a hearing at Peterlee Magistrates' Court.
The company's director, Mrs Jungying Lin, admitted failing to comply with various food safety and hygiene provisions on or before September 7, 2023.
The company was found to have failed to put into place adequate procedures based on the HACCP principles, failed to control pests, did not keep premises clean and well maintained, and failed to ensure food handlers were supervised and instructed in food hygiene matters.
